The Russians are always WINNING even when they RETREAT!! How honest is Mr Christian Vladimir Putin? His claimed tank losses for Russia and Ukraine?

According to the Russians, they never lose even when they actually retreat and even when they actually openly ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE RETREATED!!!

Putin recently said that the Ukrainians lost 160 tanks while the Russian army only lost 54 tanks during the same time. If you keep listening to the Russians and to their favourite mouthpiece, Colonel Douglas MacGregor you will always think that they are ALWAYS WINNING and that HUGE VICTORIES are AROUND THE CORNER.

Do you remember the paid mouthpiece, Colonel Douglas MacGregor saying, just a few months ago … NEXT STOP KYIV??? How far are the Russians away from Kyiv now? It’s still quite a distance 5 months later!!!

I do have the links which you will see, to the Dutch Website Oryx that monitors all tank losses for both sides. This appears in my Adverts. So you’ll get a chance to go and view those statistics for yourself.

The Ukrainians started the war with just over 500 tanks. They’ve received about 300 Western tanks. But as I’ve pointed out, the Ukrainians also captured 500 Russian tanks. So the Ukrainian tank force is actually stronger than it was at the start of the war.

If you were to believe Putin, you will think that the Ukrainians have lost half of their tanks or that they are on the bones of their asses.

Well, you keep watching my assessment. I’m telling you that there are 12 tank brigades. 3 of them are busy with low level combat and they’ve taken some losses. There are 9 tank brigades sitting IDLE and just training, while waiting to be called into action.

You keep watching … we don’t know when or where all the tanks will be unleashed … we might wait for weeks or even months. But they will be unleashed when the time is right and people are in for a shock.

So how accurate are Putin’s claims of 160 Ukrainian tank losses? Well, I’ve said over and over that the ratio of losses between Ukraine and Russia more or less consistently works out to 2:1. 2 Russian losses for every Ukrainian loss. This is a rough rule of thumb that will give you a guideline.

I don’t regard tanks as the most important weapon to destroy. I regard artillery, rocket systems and aircraft to be the most important weapons. But tanks are something substantial that most people can relate to.

As I’ve said, Oryx in Holland has UNDERESTIMATED the losses of both sides and they put Russian tank losses at 1260+.

The Russians as a rule OVERSTATE, MASSIVELY, enemy losses and over state their losses.

So Ukraine lost a lot less than 160 tanks and Russia lost a lot more than 50 tanks. I watch the statistics daily, and the Ukrainians claim about 10-18 Russian tank kills every day. If Putin was looking at a 5 day period for his stats then he is only slightly understating his losses – If he is referring to a 5 day period. However, I would say, knowing the penchant for Russian overstatement that you could then divide the Russian claims by 10. So a guess for 5 days is that the Ukrainians lost about 16 tanks in 5 days. Then we have 16:50 and that gives us a ratio that is close to 2:1. That would be a lot closer to reality.

If you look at the Oryx website that monitors tank losses then the average over 15 months is 2.8 tanks destroyed per day. That would be 14 tanks in 5 days. So Putin’s admission is proof that the fighting is much more intense.

The Ukrainians are hitting at least TWICE as hard as before. In some types of weaponry, like firing missiles the Ukrainians are firing more than twice as many as they used to fire.

The Ukrainians are attacking at a slower rate because if they go faster they will lose more men and weapons. So they’re fighting slower, but you can see their progress. They make visible progress in some areas every 2 days or so.
