People might not think much of an animal veterinary surgeon – a "vet" as we would say in South Africa. But because vets treat so many different kinds of animals, they can exceed doctors in certain medical knowledge because they deal with things than never happen to humans.
A buddy of mine was talking to a vet pal of his here in SA. The vet was telling him that "corona virus" has been in cattle and other animals for a long time. The vet said that the corona virus’s only effect on cattle is to give the diarrhoea!
So, as you can see, generally much ado about nothing.
