[I did a bit of digging into this, because the GOP's Elephant's stars now point in a different direction to the stars on the US Flag. On the American flag, those stars with the point up, mean "Man". But when pointed down it means Satan. Jan]
Tthe direction of the stars on the Republican elephant logo did change.
Original Design (before 2000)
Star Direction: Originally, the stars on the Republican elephant logo were oriented with the points facing upward (right-side up).
Change in 2000
New Design: Around the year 2000, the stars were flipped to point downward (inverted), with the single point facing downward and the two points facing upward.
Significance
The change in the direction of the stars was subtle but has been noted and discussed by observers and political commentators. The reason for the change has not been officially explained by the Republican Party, leading to various interpretations and speculations.
