S.Africa: Crime: Home invasion: Man shot, 2 vehicles robbed, Waterloo

A 47 year old man was shot during a house robbery on Spinach Road in Waterloo on Thursday afternoon, 3 June 2021.

Residents contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) requesting medical assistance for the victim who was bleeding excessively from his injury.

Reaction Officers and Paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 20:14. On arrival RUSA Members were informed that the robbers had fled in a red VW Polo TSI (NJ 46936) and a maroon Toyota Etios (NUR 72410).

One person was shot in the left thigh and was being stabilised by an off duty Paramedic who resides in the area.

It was established that two gunmen entered the house through an unlocked door and robbed the first victim of his vehicle keys. They then proceeded to the upper level of the home where they shot the second victim and stole the keys to the VW Polo. The suspects then sped off in both the victims vehicles.

The injured male was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
