I could not believe it when someone I know quite well in Europe turned around and told me she believes in the FLAT EARTH. This is the 3rd White woman I know well who has come to me with this. This is junk. When I hear the weak “proofs” Flat Earthers come up with to prove the Earth is flat, I can’t believe it. I did astronomy as my hobby as a teenager in Rhodesia. I used to have a little telescope and a pair of binoculars and I spent many hours observing the sky, watching the Moon, finding the planets and even trying to observe sun spots, which is very dangerous – you can become blind if you look at the sun through a telescope. It astounds me the pathetic proofs of the so-called Flat Earth. I will deal with these issues. There are people who have offered to pay the trips of Flat Earthers to Antarctic to show them the reality of watching the Earth spin. And the Flat Earthers stayed away from these generous offers.

The Ancient Greeks, before the Roman Empire, before Christians, figured out the Earth was round and among the proofs they realised was the round shadow of the Earth falling on the Moon.

You can see this for yourself at every lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses are very common because the Moon moves into the Earth’s shadow often (because the Earth is bigger than the Moon).

Watch a lunar eclipse yourself with your own eyes and get binoculars and look closely at it. You’ll see the round shadow of the Earth falling on the Moon and moving across it.

The Earth’s thin atmosphere distorts the light moving through it so you’ll see the fuzzy circle of the Earth’s shadow falling on the Moon. Lunar Eclipses are common. The only way the Flat Earther’s could get away with this is to claim that the Flat Earth is a flat circle. A lot of people are quite lazy and they don’t even make the most basic efforts to study science.

The next Total Lunar Eclipse is on September 7, 2025 visible from: Africa, Asia, Australia and parts of Europe.
