VERY IMPORTANT: FROM JAN: MAJOR SOFTWARE CHANGES TO HISTORY REVIEWED – BLACK/BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

This is a note to everyone. On Monday I completed a bunch of fixes and released them to History Reviewed.

For many of you you won’t notice anything. But the fixes all have to do with security and with that hideous BLACK/BLUE screen that would come up which results in the whole layout becoming a total mess. The website’s theme would actually break. Then the whole website becomes a total ugly mess with blue on black writing and you can hardly read or see anything.

It was a very horrid thing that people have complained about for the last 2 years or so.

And it was especially bad for people who came to the website via their phones or via certain browsers.

I had no idea why it was happening and it took a long time before someone guided me and pointed out what was going wrong.

I’ve actually worked on it from time to time in recent months. But it was a really horrible problem I had not dealt with before and I had to learn a bunch of new things.

I first made these fixes on AfricanCrisis. But on Monday I made these changes to HistoryReviewed.

People who use phones to access my site should find that things work fine.

I am very sorry it took so long, but I really battled with this. I did not understand all the work I would have to do to fix it.

So things should be ok. I still have other website related work I want to do in March.

But I hope this will make the website much more fun for the many people who had a nasty experience.
