WHITES: Learn to save money – Insane Car prices: American bought a really cheap used car

[I'm a big believer in being careful how I spend money. There are many things that are just huge wastes of money. Some new cars in South Africa can cost almost as much as my little house does. In fact the cheapest electric car (another scam), costs as much as my house. It is amazing how many things are wildly overpriced because they contain all kinds of technology and computer stuff that you don't really need. I also never buy a new PC or laptop. This was from an email exchange I had with an American I know very well who bought a really cheap 2nd hand car. Jan]

Yes, I didn’t want to spend money on a new car or a high priced used one.

Used car prices are insane around here. $20,000 +
New trucks cost $75,000.

All these prices went very high during covid.

I bought a used Subaru that has been doing well.

I only have two problems with it. …

Overall, it has great air-conditioning, heat, visibility, a very comfortable seat, and a rack on the roof.
