[This happened in the time of Bill Clinton. A friend of mine was an ex-USAF Vietnam Vet who flew Boeing 747's for many years. When they made the claim about the cause of ignition being a spark in the fuel tank my friend who was himself a Captain of a Boeing 747, he told me it was just nonsense. He did not believe it for a second. There is a possibility of US Military perhaps doing this by accident. Boeing interviewed about 250 eye witnesses to this event and they saw something shoot up from the sea at the plane. Jan]
