Apparently 90% of the entire Russian army in Ukraine has been moved into the Zaporizhia district. This is where Putin is clearly worried about the full offensive and wants to defeat it.

The Russians are constantly claiming that the Ukrainian counter offensive is being defeated or has been defeated when barely 10% of the Ukrainian forces have attacked.

Putin gave a news conference the other day where he admitted that he has got plans, but his plans are dependent on what happens in the Ukrainian counter offensive.

The Russians admitted the death of their top commander of the Southern Front in Ukraine. I mentioned his death yesterday.

The Ukrainians are hitting the Russians in 4 areas. The village of Velyka Novosilka was captured a few days ago, but there is a LOT of fighting going on in the region south of it and the Ukrainians captured other positions and they have been driving the Russians back. The Russians retreated and are busy digging 700 metres of trenches. But there’s a lot of fighting coming from various angles and there is a lot more fighting to come. This is the area where the Ukrainians have had the most successes.

The Ukrainian Armoured fist is the biggest European Army since 1945. Previously it had been stated that it was 9 brigades strong, but it now seems to be 12 brigades strong. I’m not sure of exactly how many tanks there are, but it is definitely more than 200 and perhaps even closer to 300.

Along with the tanks are lots of Bradleys, Strykers and other armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicles. The Ukrainians have lost quite a few Bradleys already. I think they’ve lost about 10 or so. Previously, many weeks ago I heard that the total number of these non-tank armoured fighting vehicles was a staggering 1,500 vehicles. But, now I hear it might be as many as 3,000.

Of the 12 Ukrainian brigades, 3 of them are PARTLY busy fighting. They are not fighting as a whole yet. Only parts of the brigades are in combat and they had some losses, but it’s minor.

Remember the Ukrainians are doing a lot of fighting that does not even include any tanks and sometimes not even IFVs (Infantry fighting vehicles like Bradleys).

THE VAST BULK OF THE UKRAINIAN ARMOURED FIST HAS NOT EVEN GONE INTO BATTLE YET. They will only be poured into battle in weeks or even months from now when the Ukrainian General Staff are certain they will be useful.

This armoured fist will be used when they find one or more spots where they can break through the Russian lines and can get into the rear of the Russians. The goal will be a Blitzkrieg and to rip the Russians apart in their rear. The real hope of the Ukrainian General Staff is to cause the Russian army to break and run and then they’ll tear them apart.

The biggest instance of this was at Kharkiv in 2022, and a lesser instance of this was around Kherson late in 2022.

This is basically an extension of the tactics of Napoleon which was to smash an enemy and then when the enemy runs, you keep them running. You keep hunting them down and smashing them endlessly so that they cannot regroup.

The Blitzkrieg concept is similar, but it moves over longer distances and slices up the enemy. The aim is the same though.

So the real hope is the COLLAPSE of the Russian army or the COLLAPSE of PART of the Russian army. That’s the goal.

We are now only in the middle of June and the counter offensive has only really been in action for 2 weeks. It is early days. We have at least about 3 months of fighting, maybe even a bit more that lies ahead.

I find the Ukrainian drone forces very interesting. There are some of their drone forces that specialize in hunting down tanks.
