Ukraine War: Crimea always make me feel sorry for Germans and German – WW2 – General Von Manstein
(:E-:N-:R-AZ:C-30:V)
I follow the Ukraine war daily to see what the latest military analysis is. But whenever I look at Crimea it always saddens me. I know that Crimea has always belonged to Russia/Ukraine, but since I know of the campaigns of the German General Von Manstein, I feel a tinge of sadness for the Germans because I know the insanely difficult campaign that Von Manstein fought in Crimea in WW2. He was at such a disadvantage and he and his brave army fought incredibly hard in Crimea. The fighting the Werhmacht engaged in, to seize the massive fortress of Sevastopol was incredible. Those men fought like crazy in order to seize that region. Hitler promoted Manstein after he pulled off the amazing feat. They even brought in one of those enormous train-based super-guns to fire at Sevastopol. But many German men died there and are buried there.
Even though Crimea has always been "Russian", I shed a tear for the Germans and the Wehrmacht when I hear of Crimea.
What Manstein and his troops did there was incredible.
The Russians had huge forces there and also a tremendous naval presence, yet the Germans beat them. Manstein had few tanks, yet he won.
It was a brilliant campaign. But it’s all forgotten.
Video & Audio: Loving Life: Jans personal discussions with President PW Botha
In 2006 as a result of my book, Government by Deception and my website AfricanCrisis, I made contact with former President PW Botha. He was very nice to me and he began phoning me. I published articles of things he told me about. He was so impressed with my accuracy when I wrote on my website what he told me, that he later invited me to stay at his house for 5 days. In this interview, I discuss some of the things that PW Botha and I discussed, and what he told me.
