A 25-year-old murder accused, Kamogelo Tlangwe Mokgothu was remanded in custody upon appearance before the Coligny Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 21 December 2020. Mokgothu will make his next court appearance on Monday, 28 December 2020.
The accused appeared in court after Coligny Detectives worked around the clock and ultimately apprehended him on Friday, 18 December 2020, for the alleged murder of Thebolo Iddor Makananyane (29). According to information received, police were called to the murder scene in Extension 8, Coligny on Monday, 16 November 2020, after Makananyane’s body was found inside a pit toilet with multiple stab wounds on her back.
The District Commissioner of Ngaka Modiri Molema, Major General Mmolawa welcomed the arrest and commended the detectives for their commitment that led to successful tracing and apprehension of the accused.
