Phew! False Panic! No Hackers – The Weird emails and server issue

Late yesterday I posted notes here that really weird emails were coming out of my one server. And there were dozens coming through. I checked and thank goodness, my supporters did not seem to be getting the weird emails.

After hours of time wasted, including taking emergency measures to secure my server, I was able to prove conclusively that the emails come from one of my own programs.

In the end, once I grasped exactly what had been happening, it actually was good news. There was nothing wrong or faulty.

It was actually good news. It was some behaviour by other people who were visiting my website, who, unbeknown to them and me, were viewing really old articles that I had published in 2018!!!

So in the end, it was actually excellent news.

But it really caught me off guard.

It wasn’t even a bug. All was fine.

I’m also very busy with work on my own software for my AfricanCrisis website that is very urgent.
