MESSAGE FROM JAN: Email problems status – What I’m doing

This is an update on the shutting down of my email server. I did it for technical reasons.

I started my server up today to begin work on it to see if I can get emails to move – slowly.

I’ve been writing some programs and doing some tests. It’s very interesting, and I want to see if within the next 24 hours, if I can get my mail server to slowly try sending emails.

There is an insanely huge backlog of emails, but I’m not worried about it. The key issue with email is to slowly move forward and to find the many errors and to begin cleaning things out.

I think there is a good chance I will be able to get emails to "dribble out" slowly, but I can’t estimate at this stage, how many emails I will be able to send per day.

My initial impression is that it could take me weeks to run it slowly while "cleaning" it out. Once that process is complete, I’ll be able to get emails out faster.

There are certain domains that will not be able to get emails from me initially.

I’ll give feedback tomorrow. By tomorrow I might have my first statistics.
