On This Day Eva Hitler was born in Munich, the second daughter of school teacher Friedrich "Fritz" Braun (1879–1964) and Franziska "Fanny" Kronberger (1885–1976); her mother had worked as a seamstress before her marriage.
She had an elder sister, Ilse (1909–1979), and a younger sister, Margarete (Gretl) (1915–1987).
