White Shop:Against Our Better Judgment: The Hidden History of How the U.S. Was Used to Create Israel
Prodigiously documented Alison Weir must be highly commended for throwing such a brilliantly hard light on the relationship between the United States and Israel. I hope this marvelous book gets all the attention it deserves. Ambassador Andrew Killgore

[This is a note that my German friend sent to me about how Von Lettow Vorbeck was treated in Germany. Only Hitler gave him a pension that he could live off. He died a poor man. My German friend is disgusted by the post WW2 German government. Jan]

My German friend wrote to me:
I am not a fan of Jan Smuts but it is to his credit, that Von Lettow Vorbeck did not die of starvation in postwar Germany. After WW1, he was poor, under Hitler, they paid him a reasonable Retirement Fund, but after WW2, they paid him nothing, not one cent. So Smuts and a few other guys in RSA got together, to send this great German General some money, that he did not die of hunger. He lived 1870 to 1964 and died a poor man in Hamburg. This is, how the rubbish government of postwar Germany treated it heroes
