[I always wondered why the media fawned over this Black American General. He made some big mistakes himself, in his statements about military assessments of things. It never occurred to me that he had Jewish links! But there it is sitting opening on Wikipedia. He could even speak Yiddish! And he was clearly very friendly and very close to Jews. Like Obama, he’s actually not a true Black. He’s a colored by South African definitions (mixed race). He is half-Scottish and half-Black. So he had been vaccinated for COVID … and dropped dead anyway. Jan]

Colin Luther Powell was born on April 5, 1937,[6][7] in Harlem, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Manhattan,[8] to Jamaican immigrants, Maud Ariel (née McKoy) and Luther Theophilus Powell.[8][9] His parents were both of mixed African and Scottish ancestry.[10][11] Luther worked as a shipping clerk and Maud as a seamstress.[12] Powell was raised in the South Bronx and attended the now closed Morris High School, from which he graduated in 1954.[13]

While at school, Powell worked at a local baby furniture store, where he picked up Yiddish from the Eastern European Jewish shopkeepers and some of the customers. (He once spoke to a Jewish reporter in Yiddish, much to the man’s surprise.)[14] He also served as a Shabbos goy, helping Orthodox families with needed tasks on the Sabbath.[15] He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the City College of New York in 1958[16][17] and said that he was a “C average” student.[18]
