That Lahaina fire in Hawaii is interesting. 15% of cars in Hawaii are lithium electric. I wonder if lithium fire was the big contributing cause of the problem. That would mean these cars by Elon Musk are dangerous to the whole society. Just incredible

I replied:
I’m horrified by the intensity of the fires that come out of electric vehicles. I’m amazed by that. There’s video footage of a bus in France that just burns to shit – and it’s electric. I did some searching, and the voltage in an electric vehicle is shocking – in those lithium batteries it is between 400-800V! That is insane! Our electricity in our homes here in SA runs at 220V, which is much higher than your 120V in America. And I’m shit scared of 220V. I never knew electric cars have such insane voltages. That explains it all and it is those lithium batteries.

Until now, I thought that electric vehicles used low voltages, and I did not expect fires from that. The higher voltage goes, the more dangerous it is. When I began looking at solar and doing my own battery bank, I was chatting to pals about the voltage. You can go higher. It starts with 12V, then 24V, then 36, 48, 96, etc. This is direct current. Anyhow, for a while I used 24V and then decided to go back down to 12V. But when I chatted to my pals, they were saying it’s starting to get dangerous from 48V upwards. So I got the creeps, and decided I would NEVER have a battery bank with 96 or 48 volts because THE SLIGHTEST MISTAKE and it will KILL YOU. It’s SO DANGEROUS. Just a mistake for a split second and you’ll be as dead as a dodo. So I must say, looking at those other crazy voltages on real electric cars – I find that freaky.

The more I look at electric vehicles the dumber the idea seems. Oil/petrol/diesel is a far better solution.
