A 10-year-old boy who allegedly shot dead his mum in a row over a VR headset is "most concerned about his gadgets while he’s in custody."

The child, from Milwaukee, US, has been charged as an adult with first-degree reckless homicide after the alleged killing of his mum Quiana Mann, 44, on November 21.

Ms Mann was shot in the face at their family home after she refused to buy her son a VR headset, according to prosecutors.

The boy’s aunt, Rhonda Reid, revealed he does not remember shooting his mum.

Reid said when she talks to her nephew in custody he quickly changes the conversation to his beloved gadgets.

She told WTMJ-TV : "When he calls, he’s just like, ‘make sure all my tablets and laptop and everything of mine is properly packaged."

The child’s gran Lueritha Mann has confessed she can’t even talk to her grandson after he allegedly killed her daughter.

She said: "I hope I do one day, but right now no. He took something very precious from me.

"I can’t believe he did it. He needs to pay for what he’s done."

Ms Reid added her nephew had been going to therapy for over a year for mood and conduct disorders as his treatment plan included reducing his access to electronic devices.

She believed this made him "upset about these devices being taken away."

Prosecutors alleged the mum was shot in the face after she wouldn’t buy him a $500 (£415) Oculus VR headset.

He then used her credit card to purchase one of the VR headsets online the next day.

The 10-year-old allegedly revealed to his gran he was "sorry" for killing his mum and asked where his gadgets were.

Angela Cunningham, the boy’s lawyer, asked for his bail to be reduced earlier this month from $50,000 (£41,000) to $100 (£83) – the amount he has in his savings account.

She said: "He told us about piggy banks with savings that he had from gifts, from birthday gifts. And scavenging through cushions in the couch that he’s been able to save up."

However, his request was denied by Judge Jane Carroll who imposed a travel restriction on the child if he is let out on future bail.

He faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted after Wisconsin state law says any child as young as 10 will be charged for serious crimes – including murder.

He will be tied as an adult but, according to the judge, all the usual considerations when deciding bail conditions "don’t make a lot of sense when applied to a 10-year-old.”

She said as the child has no criminal history, no job, no home of his, no assets and no way of attending court by himself, it presents a difficult challenge for the courts.

Judge Carroll also turned down prosecutors’ request that the child is released to the custody of a family member if let out on bail.

She said such a condition would not be required for an adult.

The minor is being held in a juvenile detention and has not been publicly identified by police.

Video & Audio: How to think like a Genius Napoleons advice
Many Whites seem to be confused regarding skill and excellence. I look at some discussions Napoleon had in his final days regarding what exactly constitutes genius. We also look at a NAZI SS genius scientist, Werner Von Braun as proof of a man who achieved the impossible.
