In the wake of a former Minneapolis police officer’s murder conviction in the death of George Floyd, Americans overwhelming agree with the guilty verdict, but a majority believe politics influenced the outcome.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 70% of American Adults agree with the jury’s guilty verdict for Derek Chauvin, including 46% who Strongly Agree. Only 20% disagree with Chauvin’s conviction, including 7% who Strongly Disagree. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
